Guest Speaker: Sir John Jones, Education Pioneer

Having spent most of his professional life leading challenging schools across the North West of England, Sir John Jones believes that ‘happy’ organisations are a pre-requisite for unlocking education’s potential to drive progressive social change. Strong leadership, widespread collaboration, creativity, imagination and a clear sense of purpose are all essential factors for building emotionally intelligent organisations that can shape young lives in a positive and effective way. Drawing on his vast pool of experience in this innovative area, Sir John will offer a range of practical pointers to help you create and maintain a dynamic organisational culture that can adapt and respond continuously to the individual needs of its pupils.

Guest Speaker: Stephen Long, Senior HMI, Ofsted

This session will shed light on the priorities for schools in the South East region and what Ofsted is doing, through inspection, to support improvement.  Senior HMI Stephen Long will also touch on developments in the inspectorate over the last year and the impact they have had on Ofsted’s work.
